The Daltonist

Formerly known as “The Black Dog” starts our Top 5 Bars In Split. This laid back pub style bar is in a superbly convenient location just outside the walls of the Palace. That’s right up the road from the open-air market known locally as the ‘pazar’. They are open all year round, making them popular with foreigners and longer-term tourists. Offering cool solace from the heat of the summer sun, they have an extensive craft beer selection, are known for their love of whisky and apparently have one of the best espresso martini’s in town!

The decor is industrial chic. They make the most of the original stone walls and compliment them with strong wrought iron and wooden features. The vibe here is very laid back, further cementing their status as a place for locals and tourists alike. Highly recommended as one of our Top 5 Bars In Split!

Marvlvs Library and Jazz Bar

Second on our Top 5 Bars In Split is Blink and you might miss this place! Believe us this is too good to miss. Tucked away down an alley way, through a very nondescript door, this hidden gem opens up unexpectedly to a very moody and quirky vibe. The heavy wooden beams overhead, the dark eerily romantic nooks and the stacks of books piled up around the place all add to the old worldly feel. Add to this regular live music and poetry during the high season, and you have a fabulous drinking establishment with eclectic attitude in SPADES. Definitely not your average bar. And definitely well worth a mention in our Top 5 Bars In Split for you to check out when you’re in town.

Sanctuary Bar

With mainly outdoor seating and a very beersy vibe, Leopold’s is open all year round and also offers local Croatian wine, rakija and liker. If you want to drink like a local, Leopold’s is the place you want to be!

Kavala Bar

Are you looking for somewhere laid back, with a great vibe, easy access to the beach and awesome rock jumps??? Then Kavala Bar is for you! Notably our one and only beach bar on the Top 5 Bars In Split recommendations.

Only a 15 minute stroll to the main Split Riva, this beach bar is a fab place to hang out in summer. With fantastic staff, bean bags for lounging and the occasional live DJ to really pump up the summer energy. Located in Bačvice Beach, the water is shallow and clear, perfect for families and groups of friends alike. With plenty of food options close-by, you have everything that you need for a total chill-out day. Or two!?!?
